Sailed there but in 18 to 20 knots and waist high conditions a couple times.

My beach in Kugenuma Kaigan, Kanagawa had similar conditions in the Winter but I had to ride my bike and trailer about 5 kms to Chigasaki to get close to side shore conditions like Omaezaki.

The predominant wind direction 90% of the time at my beach was from the South and it was side on and I'd have to drive 100 km to find side shore but in the Winter there were more Westerlies.

My beach was similar to Manzanita, Oregon but much warmer. The only issue was that there were a lot of surfers in the break zone all along the beach stretching 50kms from Zushi to Kamakura to Hiratsuka so you had to be careful.

Omaezaki has a few surfers as there is a parking area but there are better surf breaks further North and South of the windsurfing beach so it's much more open than where I used to live.

Nothing around though and completely exposed to the open ocean so it gets a good assortment of swell but wind driven waves tend to build to head high in the afternoons.

Did anyone sail Boundary Bay yesterday? Windy and pretty warm all day.

I like the sound of the conditions over there - the video does make it look quite interesting.

You may have been looking at the Boundary Bay sensor reading from when it was still dark? There was a pretty decent forecast, warm temperatures and pre dawn wind. Looked like some windsurf action potential. However, on arrival it was less. I did get a decent 1/2 hour on 9M kite and SB before the wind dropped. I waited a bit and the wind came back. However it was a very unsettled wind which was very disconcerting on a kite. After 1/2 hour of staying close to shore I called it a day. Solo session, though when I left a winger was going to the beach and I know there was at least one windsurf hanging around. I don't know how they did but the wind graph didn't look great. You didn't miss much :)
