Alton, just go to Spanish Banks if you are looking for 12 knot winds.
Much better marginal wind session at SB last night than Squamish Sunday. And if you could have gone during the day it looked pretty good yesterday.

As a beginner kite foiler, I'm looking for 18 knots but beggars can't be choosers. Anyway, Alton Jr prefers the Squamish conditions for her strapless freestyle (eg. air gybes / board off). She's might start trying hand stands now.

Yesterday (Tuesday) was only WSW 15 in the river so learning kite foiing leeward in 10 knots with waves between the pilings was tricky business ... especially trying to keep balanced with minimal bar pressure. Anyway, once down in the Nexen waters I managed to get rides and only then noticed the buzzing sound of the 95 cm aluminum mast when flying on foil.

Rather light day. SW 10-12. Alton Jr made it work on 8m+surfboard - landing plenty of air gybes. Others included kite foilers and lots of rescues. I practiced light wind waterstarts and upwind body dragging on kite foil.

Great conditions SW 14-16 for a beginner kite foiler until I made the mistake of entering the Bozzo area where the river current messed me up. Heading towards Nexen was also a bad idea - too light.

Alton Jr first on the water got the morning session and scored strapless tricks on 8m+surfboard ... then it crapped out at noon when she became my Kite Foil Uber Service.
Called it a day early enough to beat the long weekend traffic home.

Emasculated by gusts and big chop so switched from kite foiling attempts back to my comfort zone on surfboard.
