Richard is on 5.3 at Acadia. I’m rigging 5.3/115.

On the water at 10am on 8m+surfboard then 3 hrs of bull shit conditions.

The most disorganized waves/chop I've ever seen from Spanish Banks to Acadia. Gusty WSW 20-30.

Hoping for some redemption on Sunday.

Got to the beach at 10:30, went to put together my foil and realized I had lost one of my main screws for the mast stab connection. Thought maybe I could windsurf instead but only brought small gear so took pictures instead. Looked like some people were having fun out there. After I got home I went back to rd where I thought I might have lost it. Just about to give up and there it was, squished into the grass. :D

7M kite and SB launching out of Spanish Banks. A failed first launch attempt. Setting out lines on the sandbank got blown around and tangled. By the time I sorted out, the sandbank Island was no more due to the rising tide. So launched off the beach with is challenging in WSW wind. Beat upwind to Acadia though mixed up chop. I then found the water cleaned up somewhat and found some fun waves. Not best ever for sure but made it all worthwhile. Saw lots of windsurfers. That would have been an easier launch even off Acadia.

Fun windsurf session at Acadia, on a 5.3 sail and 94 L board, some fully powered, some underpowered, mostly just right. Some nice swells near shore to halfway out. Sunny and warm. Thanks for the photos Michael. Good turnout.

In between. Arrived at the beach expecting to see gusting 30 mph based on wind sensor, but Richard using his 5.3 told a different story. Watched for a while and finally relented and rigged 5.3/115 only for the wind to puff up for a power half hour and make it all feel too big. Rigged down to 4.5/92 for a stint of being under gunned then returned to the big stuff to wallow down to the lower launch. Bit of a lack luster session trying to find the right set-up. The good news was the water and air were both warm, sun was out and there was some decent swell. Sorry Carl took a deck screw in his larger board, but glad to see he was able to be make his smaller board work in the rebounding wind!

Thanks for the photos Michael! Glad to hear you found the missing bolt!
