Looking like peak tide will coincide with the wind profile.

Fingers crossed!

Cheers

Nice to get out on the water since last year. W 20-25 at Spanish Banks on 8m+surfboard.

It seemed more like a windsurfer reunion with Johnny, Michael, Cash, Mike and I ... except nobody windsurfed today.

7M kite on SB out of Spanish Banks after Kona walk and web meeting. Took a crash smacking ribs early on (below impact vest). Kited on and generally ok but sore now. There were some nice peaking waves to play on. However, I did the epic grind upwind (seemed harder to do than usual) to dog beach to find it not having a good wind direction (puffy wind). Moderate turn out of kiters and wingers. I could see some wingers having good fun downwinding on the waves. No windsurfers...

I struggled really badly with the big swell, gusty conditions and my new board with the mast too far forward. Got sea sick from bobbing around with the wing in my face and couldn’t shake it. Rough day on the water.

Really blew it today. Chose the wrong wing, foil was too far forward and stab was too big. 2.5m was a challenge, every time the wind dropped I floundered and got blown farther down wind. Too stubborn to come in and re-rig I kept on trying, hoping the wind would fill back in. It teased me enough to keep me going out eventually finding myself all the way down at Locarno. Long walk back as the sun was dropping, finished the day cold, tired and frustrated as...! No wind in the forecast for a redemption session either.

Hello!

Seems like it was a generally challenging day on the water for everyone.

Pretty much the same sentiment for me when I look back on the session--8M Neo and surfboard with the challenge of just finding a rhythm to the conditions. Felt like I had the most aggressive launch ever just trying to keep my kite off the ground and water before it started flying properly. Landing was just as challenging and had to book it downwind a bit to clear the volleyball courts at the West Concession.

I did manage to find a few really fun waves despite spotting some serious debris and logs floating around.

Always good to be on the water.

Cheers
