I heard from one of the higher ups that the spit road is history. The SWS will never have permission to access the road again. The situation now is not temporary, and is the new normal.

Go to Nitinaht — still run by Natives. Squamish is mixed with Whites, Natives, and Others. So it’s pretty mixed up.

Heading there this weekend starting today.

Apparently the council is splurging $20,000 on stakeholder meetings around the estuary. Wasn't clear if those meetings would include windsports, but seems fishy that there was zero consultation with spit users before Edith removed just enough spit to make access drastically more difficult with extremely marginal improvement in salmon access with this last section...

We don't know if she is an environmentalist or not. We also don't know where on the political spectrum she aligns herself. All we know is she likely made a lot of money from these projects.

If there was parking by boat and loading was closer to the mouth of the blind channel then this option is not bad, actually pretty good. No more low tide hikes...

Today low tide. Shuttle drop-off at the sandbar. Rig on the sandbar, and launch.

OSR. Yellow to red. Rigging size small.
