Alton, I was sniffing around for SW wind. Not today. I did notice that the webcam link to White Rock you used just shows the webcam. On the below link the source has the webcam AND weather station data for East Beach below the webcam image. 11g12 knots and 6.1 Deg Cel. right now (updates every 5 minutes) - not sure how it reflects what is on the water but time will tell.

The weather station is on a lamp post very close to the grassy area at the east end of the promenade. That site is as close to the ideal spot as possible and reflects the conditions along the shore really well. Frequently you can expect a knot or two more out on the water.
