When the tide starts coming back in after 2 that is when the waves should get bigger also.

... so did the wind ...

Double sesh ... snowboard then kitesurfing!!!

Cash, Michael, C36, Chamlers ... "I hate to rub it in, but I will" ... the wind ramped up after the morning crew left.

The afternoon (after 2pm) crew (Dave B, Chuck, Slappy, Rob D and me) scored a sweet chest high breaking wave session in SW 20-25. Perfect for 8m+surfboard. Nice to end the 3 hrs session with a pictureque sunny break.

For the first time I couldn’t get to the beach because of the strong wind caused a mass power outage in my neighborhood in Parksville thus I couldn’t open my garage to drive out

Oh well better luck for tomorrow’s NW at South Chesterman

White Rock East Beach (2022 Apr 4)

Image

Weird wave. Nobody out when we arrived and the wind was super steady – odd on both counts for WREB. Wind was so up and down I’m not sure there was a “right” gear choice for windsurfing. Even Cash was complaining about over and under when he came in from kiting with 8 m. 4.5/92 was too small - lots of bobbing around and only a few moments of glory when you had enough power to play. Clocked a log – full “park n’ fly” – but luckily no material damage to fins or board. Best part was I found WREB's version of the 'weird wave' and rolled around in the washing machine for bonus points - patience was required for sure!

Good session for me, but not on the level of what White Rock can deliver when it's truly firing.
