SE Friday Afternoon

Perfect timing. After a morning snowboard session at Cypress, arrived at 3rd Ave at noon. Just in time for 8m+surfboard in steady SSE 25 in the early afternoon ... then switched to 6m+surfboard in SSE 25g30 for the later afternoon. Waves got cleaner later towards dark ... waist to chest high upwind and outside of the boat launch. 40 to 60 ft spacing was perfect for wave rides and tons of bottom turns.

Nice way to start the weekend with big smiles and dry kites

It was 7M. One model year newer than my 9M but it looks basically the same.

Iwindsurf happened to be working and I was thinking I should have brought my windsurf gear as the wind kicked up more than I expected. I was going for max time effeciency. Walked to to beach as Alton was walking to the water with his 8M. Happy to see this as i figured it meant 7M was the right call. And it was.

No windsurfers... Increasing number of kiters through afternoon. Joined Michael (sole winger I saw) on the outside for some nice sets.

I was thinking the same thing but really wanted to try out my new front wing, got the Moses 799 Balz Pro.

For sure there were some really nice sets out there, got some great rides and some high speed crashes, that new front wing is fast! By the end I was way over powered on my 5M wing. Would have been a fun day windsurfing as well.
