I posted a phone osr at 1pm but I don’t see it, but I just got off a fun 5.0/110 session at centennial. Flat at first, and waves gradually forming in last half hour. Could use a smaller board with 5.0 now.
To quote Alton, “nice way to end the week”!

Seems windier at CB ~28 to 30 ESE knots. On 3.1m ^2 over 75 quad wave.

Beer, family size chips and outdoor hot tub felt so good after 3.5 hr session.

Steady SSE 18-20 good for 8m+surfboard. Not the best waves but found some nice ones outside. Quit after 2.5 hrs to save energy for Saturday's dawn patrol.

Thinking about driving in from squamish. Can't get there till 12 though. Will it still be good? Never been to boundary. Is that the place to be tomorrow.? I need all your secrets.

Boundary Bay is very fickle based on my almost 20 years of sailing there. It can deliver the best day of your life, but sometimes the forecast can be perfect but no wind is delivered.

If coming from a long way away make sure all forecasts are in agreement and try to leave when the wind is already blowing and it's forecast to get stronger. If on a windsurfer, a weed fin is definitely required. Even catching one strand of weed is enough to slow you down.

Based on the GFS forecast you might be in luck at 12 pm but anything can happen, 0 or 30 knots. No guarantees at all.

All details here, viewtopic.php?f=36&t=896

Ryan is correct about Boundary Bay. Don’t underestimate the weeds; there were huge masses of them on the beach and near the shore today. They didn’t seem to be affecting the foilers who were staying well offshore though.
My experience is that windsurfing there without a weed fin can be very frustrating. Also keep an eye on the tides. If it’s below about 2.5m you can have a long walk to the water.
Have a look at the sailing site info on this website for a very good summary of the location.
