I'm not sure what I missed today at Locarno but the Jericho webcam didn't show any white caps.

I got to Jericho at about 3:30 on Tuesday I don't know what was happening in the straight but the water was super flat and there was a strong wind close to shore, which would get pretty light as you got close to the tankers. Maybe 22 knots close to shore? It seemed like a local thermal . I've never sailed at Jericho when it's that flat with that much wind.

NW Thermal Session Report at Furry Creek

Arrived at 6:20 AM after seeing a 25 kts sensor reading at 3 AM. Saw whitecaps out in the distance. Little to no wind at the public dock. Hawaiian-carried all the gear from the parking lot to a little grass patch by the public dock.

2 hours TOW on 4.8 m2 and 105L. Overpowered. Choppy in the middle, flat water on the opposite side. Choppy, but occasional waist-high waves with decent spacing in between. Great bump and jump conditions. Sailed until just after the sun came out. Warmer than Saturday.

Brian arrived as I was packing up. The wind was still on!

Home and at work by 9:30am. Will be back for more.

Note: there is a deceptive wind shadow at Furry Creek. Would recommend a floaty board.

Scored 1.5 hrs on 12m+surfboard at Locarno in WNW 16-20. As usual chop became progressively worse as we approached the freighter. Sunny and warm ... outnumbered by wing foilers.

2.5 hours winging at the Ferry Terminal. Weeds are starting to come back. :( Lots of crashes working on my turns but finally made a few foiling jibes into switch today! :D

Heads up that the humpback whale is still hanging around the bay. We usually see it halfway between 1st & 2nd dolphin and q62. It is often near the shallows. Please be careful and slow down if you see it and let any friends with fast boats and motorboats know to watch out. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/injured ... point-grey

Thursday turned out to be a typical LW Vancouver thermal with no help from the Straight. About 9-10 knots up at Dog Beach.
