Well that was weird. Centennial Beach went from crazy 40 knots at 10:20 AM to nothing at 10:30 AM.

1st reach 3.7 nicely powered, 2nd reach over powered, 3rd reach full on survival sailing, rigged down to 3.4, 4th reach nothing, done. Glad I stopped to re-rig or I probably would have been swimming. Glad Johnny and Jens made it back without a swim.

Session 1 of 2 - First time I used my 5m Airush Flow (donated by Francis). It was amazingly stable (not twitchy) in SSE 40. Even though overpowered, I was in complete control all the time. Sweet chest high breaking waves outside. Too bad my session only lasted 0.5 hrs before the squall passed. Can't wait for the next nuking session :D

Session 2 of 2 - Glad Chuck convinced me to checkout White Rock. We enjoyed 2 hrs on 9m (10m for Chuck) + surfboard session. The wind was directly onshore S 18-25 but oddly gusty. Slightly disorganized waves outside but still plenty of sweet gybes and wave rides to be had.

Goldilocks. Nice and warm and felt 'odd' with the sun out and no bullet rain. Got the 'too much' and 'not enough', but never found the 'just right'. Wind ramped up fast as I was rigging and took to the water in survival conditions. Just didn't want to chance a smack-down with the untested knee. Another few weeks and hopefully I'll have the green light to start jumping again!

Pumped up 9m rebel around 9am at BB as it felt right for the condition. First one out. Once out the wind ramped up quickly to madness especially the punchy gusts. Was worried my lines would eventually snap. Boosting was awesomeness scarry fun even it always took lots of energy to get all the way back upwind after a jump. Was almost releaved when the wind suddenly dropped and I could get back to shore. Just 1h kiting but I was done. What a fun time!

BTW - I connected my outside steering lines to the middle knots of the 5m kite. I'm sure if I connected to the lower knots (ie. extra 12cm of depower) I would not have been overpowered.

Thanks for the photos Dave!

That was an interesting day, so overpowered on 4.0 but caught about 15 min as it was coming down where it felt dialled in and then the wind fully shut off and a slog back downwind to the beach. Very comfortable temperatures though:)
