More fun winging at the terminal. Super flat water today with the wind coming from the West. Worked on pumping the board with no power in the wing and started to get some nice long rides. Also worked on carving and things started feeling really fun. Went for a super powered up carve jibe when my back foot slipped inside my boot putting sudden pressure on the outside rail, the board flipped back and I feel forward and thought I was going to get skewered by the foil. I could see the foil coming out of the water as I was about to belly flop on top of it and I quickly rolled on my side to avoid it. Nasty! My foot slipped in my boot again a few more times even though I was trying to take it easy, never wearing those things again, switching back to my Atans!! I stopped wearing them in mid winter when my feet were getting too cold and went with a 5mm boot. Besides that little scare it was a very fun day winging in the sun. Great to see Chuck and Cash at the beach!

I "prematurely came" to Spanish Banks. James was first out on his 8m+surfboard. I followed on 9m+surfboard. Glad I had the foresight to mount my foot straps. Worst chop EVER. Only made it to the first marker ... caught in purgatory chop of hell. Got worked and overpowered for 2 hrs in W 22-28. Some nice inbound waves but outbound chop was f'n insane.

Totally jealous James and Rob (winging) made it to Acadia to enjoy some big glassy waves.

Got a late acadia mini session with the last bit of light, think I sailed from around 5.30 till 6.10, 5.0/89ltr. Wind came down and had bigger holes last half but had some fun reaches.

I almost chose to work after seeing the initial blip, sure glad I didn't. I was super lit winging on a 4.2, coulda used half a meter less at the end. I haven't seen a good February Spanish Banks westerly day like that in decades, (it felt like 1997) but then I don't get out much!

Snagged a nice sunset session, lit on the 6.5m. Big waves and an odd angle that then disappeared. Had my Fireball snap off mid trick, but it was probably one of the best possible scenarios for it to break. Just 2 days before in White Rock I was doing 20+ foot boosts. Managed a fun 1 hour on the water. Even though it was 7 degrees out, it was a cold wind.
