About 10 windfoilers and a couple of wingfoilers just north of JSC this afternoon. A few started on 7 and 6m^2 sails, I started on a 5.0m^2 (around 1:30? 1:45?). I think we all rigged down pretty quick, it felt like about 25 knots outside. 5.2 Flyers were popular, I rigged down to 4.2 Revo and could have gone smaller. I saw Dimitry briefly and I think he must have been on something under 4m^2.

It was pretty fun and I quickly got better at foiling while sheeted out, so even though I felt overpowered it was doable. The hardest part was trying not to launch immediately after waterstarting. Of course I fell in quite a bit which was tiring but overall it was a successful day. Note 1: pretty glad I put foam on the nose of my board. Note 2: I now have a Chinook Pro-flex mast base and it was great. Way easier for taking the mast on/off (land or water), and really prevents the board from flipping over while maneuvering the sail in higher wind and waves.

I started on 5.0 and quickly rigged 3.4. Still was overpowered but today I managed to go downwind without too many crashes. Back foot was always out of strap to keep foil down.
At the end of day tried to sail more downwind behind a pier with less wind.
Fun session with sunny day and good 28kn westerly wind.

2 hrs of crazy ass chop at Spanish Banks on 9m+surfboard strapless. So bad that I blew 50% of my gybes. Kept falling off my surfboard slamming into disorganized waves ... so trapped in Spanish Bank ... tried to make it to Acadia but no such luck for me. Maybe next time I'll put on the straps. Mix in overpowered conditions (well over W 25) made it a real struggle trying to keep upwind.

On the bright side, I know my DIY traction pad is grippy and cushy.

Fun day at Acadia. Slappy came up to say hello and got a few shots of the windsurfing crew. I think there were six of us out there today. Small waves inside, big ones outside but choppy as hell. I was joking at the end that my ribs hurt but they seriously do now. 5.3 102L was nice, kept me up wind so no walk of shame from Dog Beach but could have used a smaller board in the chop.

Brought lots of wind gear options as was not sure what today would settle in at. High tide so would have liked to kite going to the "Dog Beach Bay." Unsure of if/when wind strength so decided to go to parking lot immediately to west of Jericho center. Liked the spot as lots of windsurfers (mainly foilers), wind sheltered and fairly close to the water. It seems the wind came in for real right when I went out on foil and 4.5. Doable if flagged the sail out (like Doug was saying) but quickly switched to 86L. At first this seemed like a fail as wind appeared to drop. Once I was out a few hundred meters it was solid. Like other reports, lots of chop - body got worked. Maybe should have tried bigger fin?? I recall Brian (who I didn't see today) talking about nice swell out at tankers and there were a few nice moments when I found a smooth well positioned one. This swell is like outside at Acadia though - fast moving downwind rollers. Rode a couple downwind white knucked speed. Felt good at end but wonder if 3.7 on foil would have made for smoother riding. Gotta up my foil skill.

I never paid attention to the English Bay Sensor. It's the one showing 7 in the image below. It did seem to pick up yesterday's wind. It's showing 7 at 7am today. Given the Jericho sensor is down, I wonder if the English Bay Sensor is a signal for English Bay wind? Any insights??

I think I found my answer - below are also Jericho webcam images
