SWEET!! I was watching the Gold Beach webcam today dreaming of the Cape. Glad you guys are there, the forecast for the next week looks perfect!!

I hope you guys make it down.

The Wind Mobile $15 unlimited us roaming plan roams on ATT in Gold Beach. Works well, voice and data. No ATT at the Cape though.

For better reception, go to Pistol then climb up the hill.

Or you can drive south of 'the rock', over the Pistol River bridge and turn right down the entrance road into Pistol River Park proper and there is good reception there.

This is what happens if you lose your board in a wipeout. The current is so strong that it goes down the beach very quickly, the good news is that it is easy to get back in two longer tacks. Apparently called Tokyo tacks. There is one guy here who does not bother to stay up wind, he does that walk multiple times a day.
