Squamish This Week

Great way to end the week. Arrived just in time to catch super steady SW 18-20 at 12:30pm on 10m+surfboard. Only 6 kiters early afternoon including the usual suspects like Cash, Clay, Rob W and Steve. Silky flat water around the river and river mouth until 2:30 when it started getting a little choppy. Fun ripping gybes in smooth water inspired by 5 awesome kiters on carving sweet turns on their surfboards. Had to leave at 3:30pm before I'm accused of child abandonment - perfect timing because wind became fluky when I left.

Some hard core windsurfers included Ewart, Mike and Fillip.

The rest of the week (Fri, Sun, Sun) looks like classic Squamish conditions - clear sky, warm and windy. Summer's arrived early!

I'm heading to the Shawnigan Lake to catch my daughter's regatta so you can enjoy the wind without me

It's crossed my mind but I don't think I would go unnoticed with a 6 hour round trip.

You could likely get to Gordon's (afternoon thermal this time of year) in just over an hour. Never sailed there but to my undestanding you should heed the warnings on the BWD wiki if you go.

Told you more than I know. :D ;)

How is wind in Squamish around 5pm usually? Gusty? Lots of west? I am hoping for an after school session and can probably be there around 4:30 :D

wind was alright till 6:00ish yesterday.better in the east part of sound(creosote corner) then the spit(honey hole), not sure why(a NW in the strait?).
Friday may be the same, I have found over the years that if the wind starts early(before noon) it doesnt stay "good"
as late. Late start, later finish so keep an eye on todays graph.
Take advice with caution as I dont really know what I'm talking about though.

Today looks grim, East 10??? qu es ce f ?

Speaking of creosote corner, there was a particularly sharky looking piece of creosote stair joist floating into the estuary yesterday, just 1/100th of the wood poking out of the water. buyer beware.
