Squamish on a rainy fall SE

Windsurfing shop talk

We went to see what Nexan would be like on a proper SE.
I very much underestimated how strong it was and rigged a 4.5 while I should have been on a 3.7 and a wave board. I managed out and back and then discovered that I must have hit some of the floating debris in the water.

The water state/ chop looked a lot better than usual.

That sucks. Something similar happened to me later in the afternoon at Nexen. Hit some underwater debris, went flying, hit the nose pretty badly and the fin nearly came out.

What time did you go out? It peaked at 1:30 at 40g54!

Thanks, I've come to expect a lot of damage when sailing at Squamish, either launching off the rocks into a fast flowing river, deadheads, or the debris, not to mention sharp cables under the water.

Around 2:20 Pm, the strength was pretty deceptive. I can usually make anything work for survival sailing but I really had to fight the 4.5 and came right back in.
