Maybe it will start as early as 10am when tide is only 1.6m / 5 ft

Sooo...looks like the wind will not let us down today! I'm wondering where to find the best waves for windsurfing today. Porteau? White Rock? Acadia? Ambleside? Thanks for the suggestions

I'm betting on White Rock for best waves

...until it clocks west, then maybe Acadia.
For a more civilized SW session I may try Cates Park. Never been there but I know Adrien used to call it his secret spot for a local N Shore session. Not a wave spot though (short fetch).

... but kiters should note that there’s no space to launch and land a kite at Cates. It’s only real launch spot for windsurfing/ wind foiling is the boat ramp.

I think Adrien only used to sail Cates on thermal winds. As Burrard Inlet / Indian Arm is a fjord it does generate a weak thermal but for frontal winds they would be largely blocked by Capitol Hill.

Might still be sailable but I would expect nasty gusts and lulls.

I would consider Crescent Beach today as well. Not sure I’ll go out at all today with work and my knee.

It's cranking onshore at White Rock. Parked at Indian Reserve (free parking). Plenty of sandbar so going to self-launch here on 7m while it's still civilized.

Come on out

The web cam isn’t working and I can’t find any info on white rock Alton. What’s the wind doing? Is there any way I can keep tabs on it?
