I arrived at around 11am. Looked to be about 30 kiters in the line up. I didn’t bother dropping off my gear. Mike got there just before I did, would be interesting to hear how that went.

Headed to Nexen, waited until 1pm for wind. Went out on a 4.2 and foil. Had a few rides until the wind tanked. Hung around for a while, wind looked like it was coming in again so I rigged my 5.5 and headed out. Seemed promising and tacked a bit to get to stronger wind but it started shifting around and I was fairly tired at this point. By the time I got back to the launch, the wind was coming in from the east.

Nice kite session but paid my dues with 1hr 45 minutes wait in line. Thing was, I could have got their earlier but probably would have been waiting 2 hours or so for the wind to arrive. Kicking myself for not bringing my windfoil so I could have lauched out of Nexen. However, from what you said, i was probably better off kiting. Windfoil at Squamish is a bit tricky. Go big early but you may quickly get overpowered. Wait for stronger wind, but wait how long... Today was abnormal with wind dropping when it did (probably too much heat in the wrong places).

What line? I arrived at 1pmish and got through no waiting. Timing is everything. Now everyone wants to get as early as possible so of course fall in line like everyone else.

Reminds me of going through US borders. People believe Nexus card is faster so everyone got Nexus card and fall in line in Nexus lane. I got nexus and fall in line in normal and get through faster than nexus people

I arrived though with little wind but my 8m is one aggressive kite so no problem

It helps when you’re light and small. Nobody pays attention to small stuff so easy to get through

Outflows are the new inflows! Get it before they're all gone!

A slow start today filled with tons of patience and trash talk.

When it finally arrived 12m + surfboard was the way to go. Kite fell out of the sky twice in the river due to hot thin air. First time required a self-rescue.

Avoiding the river, I headed way upwind to find Joe Blo jumping on his 9.5m+TT. Water was smooth and wind was a solid SW 20 for 2 hrs of fun.

Lesson learned. Never ride in the river on a hot day. When will I learn? Made the same mistake 2 days on a row.

Amazing 3 hrs session on 9m - alternating between twin tip and surfboard. Steady SW 20-25. Great boosting and great swell riding.

Gusty but super fun 7m+surfboard session. Early start before noon to join the crowd ripping it up in the river over glassy smooth water. Some nasty gust and lulls but fortunately no serious injuries.

After lunch the wind became a little more civilized but still gusty so I returned to the river for some crazy ass voodoo chop ... which was challenging but fun cranking gybes.

Decided to quit while I was ahead after 2pm and departed with a big grin.

Early but rough start on 12m+surfboard. Too gusty so had trouble staying upwind - even had to self-rescue. Switched to 9m+surfboard which was much better. Headed into the river at low tide and enjoyed a steady SW 18-22 in silky smooth water. Had the river all to myself for the longest time before others joined in. Great way to end the week with a fantastic 2.5 hr session.
