Good discussion Adam2. Would you consider the I99 vs a bigger sail, It seems to me the bigger wing trumps a bigger sail for low wind foiling.

Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of response for the I99 due it being NEW this season; however 7 knots seems to be the low end. Coreadventuresports.got some pretty good foiling videos so I would absolutely trust his stats.

Added: I'm sure he's also pumping his foil as the sail pump doesn't look too aggressive.

There's also dinghy sailing at 10 knots. I haven't sailed in a dinghy for 40 years though (last time I was around 10 years old).

Good question Woody. I bought my 84 over a year ago, if I were shopping now, I'd definitely consider the 99, especially after seeing Dean's videos from the lakes around Dallas, it seems he gets more TOW than anybody. I wouldn't dream of using a sail that size in those winds with my 84 and I think he's got 20lbs on me. I went with the 7.3 sail as a lightwind solution before the Infinity 99 was on the market, it was a couple hundred bucks used, so a small price to pay compared to the 99, short fuse and 48cm rear wing, plus I believed Wyatt when he said the wing was intended for the Levitator not the Wizards. It's nice to see Dean has made it work so well. I'm hoping somebody else goes with a 99 locally as I'm curious to see one action, it would be great for most summer days at Jericho for sure. I think a 76/99 combo would be a pretty solid light to medium wind two-wing quiver.

I meant to add that it always looks super calm in the CoreAS videos, I suspect there isn't much fetch over the water on the lakes in many of his videos, causing them to often look like there's even less wind.

Your comment re kite foiling and swimming in (yes, done that) is one plus of windfoil. The other is not needing a clear launch area. Kite foil for sure has it's positive too. All food for thought.

I just bought an infinity 76 (and free H5) to complement my 84

I already have a long fuse since I ended up using my 84 with the short fuse and 48cm stab. This way I can play with all the configurations and have two foils ready to go. I love the 84 in light wind 10-15 knots and just adjust my sail size from 7.0 down to 4.2.

Last summer I found myself flying along with my sphincter puckered trying to keep the 84 wing under control once the wind got up to 17-22 ish. I'm hoping the 76 can handle a bit more wind and not feel out of control. I considered the carbon moses setups but the prices were a bit too steep compared to the slingshot. Once I figure out If I need 2 different wing setups maybe I'll commit to one carbon setup.

Here is my discussion with Bruce from Sailworks:

Your foil choices are somewhat constrained by your Dialer board, which only has a medium Tuttle box (not full, deep Tuttle). The Moses carbon 85 and 105 masts will not fit into your finbox. The two links to foils you reference both have the 85 mast and will not work with your board.
There are work-arounds, but you will have to choose either the carbon 101 mast, or the aluminum 95 mast, both of which have a medium Tuttle head. Then we can build a foil with the wings you want.

The next step down from the Infinity 84 wing you have (which is the same as Moses 873) would be the Moses 790 wing. The is the wing on the Vento 85 foil you were looking at. Two steps down in wing size from the Infinity 84 would be the 683/679 wing. These two wings are the same, but the numbers are different for compatibility to different fuselages. I'm thinking that at your size and foiling intentions the 790 wing would be the best choice - its a beauty wing, full Cadillac cruising.

BigD, I'm curious to know if you've tried the H5 yet. I have one leftover from kitefoiling and am curious to try it, but have been hesitant to try dialing in a new wing on windy winter days.

My new wings are in the mail, haven't seen them yet. I thought maybe I'd use the H5 wake foiling if I can find a friend with a boat. I'm doubtful it will be useful but who knows.

I watched a friend of mine's first rides windfoiling on the H5 a couple years ago with a Wizard 105L and a 5.0 off the Hook at HR. He was able to do alright, but it was pretty windy and he's a team rider. I'm curious how it is compared to the Infinities. Sooner or later I expect to find out.

At what point or why would you choose a custom Roberts foiling board over a Slingshot? I think that a (new) custom Roberts foiling board is around 3k and a Slingshot 2019/2020 is almost the same. Just looking for some feedback on quality, repair, design and cost.
