Yet another uncivilized session? I hope not ...

Oops ... maybe too civilized. Scored the morning session - almost 2 hrs in SSE 18-22 marginally powered on 9m+surfboard. Good times riding with Cash on 10m+TT then later Rob W. Wind was up and down. Kinda choppy except outside of the boat launch where waist high waves were pretty smooth.

Definitely paid off to rig bigger today. Had a nice start on 5.0/95 litres but it didn’t last long. Luckily I had my 5.7 rigged and ready on the beach, and it was just about right for a decent session cruising around on my big board. Only a few nice waves among the chop and holey wind, but still an entertaining morning on the water.

Caught the tail end of the wind -- a lot of south.

Jerry and I had the beach to ourselves after everyone left. 1.5 TOW isn't too bad.

Cash had to go out too to help another kiter who was unfortunate to get caught in the deep lull at around 12noon. But he's ok as far as I know.

Yes , lots of drama after a local called 911 . Cash was the hero who did the water rescue in off shore wind. Clay did the land rescue. Lots of Police there too. They tracked down the kite. All is good now, the rescued kite boarder is safe with all equipment. Happy New Year !

Downdraft. Sweet hip-high mini swell trains rolling through. The smooth organized water was nice for change. Trouble was the twitchy wind - OK at times and then it felt like you were standing in a downdraft (you could see wind texture on the water but no power in the sail) - like looking at a mirage. Buzzed by Tsawwassen, twice, just trying to keep moving (well mostly ). Still a good practice day (maybe the last before the cold snap).

Glad all made it in safely and thanks to those who helped (not the first time Cash has lent a hand to those in need ).

I'm the one who created the chaos on the beach and am extremely grateful to the community at large for stepping up and giving me support. I can't say enough about Cash's effort. Even launching in what I assume were tricky condition and putting himself at risk is unbelievable. I was so glad to see his kite coming my way. And thanks to Clay for coming out and assisting Cash in getting me ashore, and driving me home, And to Jerry for grabbing my gear bags preventing them from being lost in the confusion. And to the neighbours who gathered my kite and bar and who as well assisted me in reaching Clay's van. And to the community of kiters and neighbours at large who were extremely supportive during the whole ordeal. It makes me aware of how lucky I am to be part of this fantastic community.
