Spit OSR. Shifty. Gusty. The wind is quite trashy actually. Pure filth. Partly sunny. Come on out!

Whenever the wind has too much west in it, it's extremely bad!

I'm not involved with the wind readout (i.e. LED display on the SWS shipping container), nor the webcam. Those are the site manager's department.

Actually, I prefer Adrian's (RIP) mechanical wind sensor (plate anemometer) to that LED display.

My volunteer efforts these days for SWS are limited to support of the on-site wind sensor (hardware, firmware, and some levels of the website software), and to support of the terminal wind sensor (some levels of the website software).

Day 5 - Like yesterday, scored 2 hrs (10:30 to 12:30) in butter smooth water on 9m+TT. Started in SW 20-25 ramping up to SW 25g30. Called it quits at 12:30 when the shit show arrived - crazy ass lulls (10 kts) and crazy ass gusts (30 kts).

Nice .. since I’m new to
The sport.. I made some rookie mistake.. as ppl were coming in @ 12:30-1 pm.. I went out.. I survived but it was a session to remember, especially as I was trying to come back about 3 pm.. when my 10m kite just drop from the sky!!!
Lesson learned.. I hope!

Apart from the silky smooth low tide at 11am, I was expecting gusty conditions due to the southerly push from the city ... so I went for an early start. Also a great way to beat the usual weekend crowds and highway traffic.
