Day 3 - Scored a butter smooth session from 10:45 to 12:30 on 9m + TT at the Spit. Started with steady SW 20-25 ramping up to SW 25g30 (overpowered). Finished just as weekend crowds arrived. Hoping for more Sunday.

Paid a social visit to Nexen. Only recognized Maryam and Dave/C36 - other windsurfers were unknown to me. All pilings have been removed so tacking out of Nexen sound be a little more civilized.

Wind is typically 5 knots higher at the Spit

Again, that iKitesurf graphs says gusting to 45 mph. Just not correct. Why not post a screen shot of the better sensor that is on-site?

Steady-to-funky. Just squeaked through before the highway closure at Horseshoe Bay happened. Security guard and safety tape were both on duty. Low tide. Optimists headed out. Steady SSW early wind and was fully spooled up on big gear (5.3/116/24). Cove, some mini-rollers and nice ramps, honey hole, river (saw Francois way up the river at flat water beach), crazy chop in the mouth of the throttled river, cliff wall, open straight and then back down to Nexen for smaller gear (92/4.5). Lots of wood in the water. One kite down on the terminal and few other flirting with the driftwood pikes. Funky west wind (not really shown on the graphs) made for more work than fun on the second stint. No Mags 99 food truck. Fun early on.

It is interesting that the terminal sensor is showing high relative to the spit sensor so far this year. Has it been moved? I understood it’s up above the water (like 30 feet or so) so maybe the readings are accentuated. That said, I can’t remember winds being this strong in late May, early June, for the last 10 years. Never really sail a 4.8 out of the spit and I found myself overpowered at times, so 30 knots in the gusts seemed correct to me.

There are three sensors.
1. The iWindsurf/iKiteSurf/Weatherflow sensor is reading way too high. It was located
on the roof of the southernmost Squamish Terminals building, I've no idea if it's been moved.
2. The Terminal sensor seems to be reading fine, and is located nearby the iKite sensor.
3. The "On-site SWS sensor" is located on the Spit itself almost at the southern end of the pilings, also seems to be reading fine.

One can see from my prior post in this thread of the on-site SWS sensor and the Terminal sensor (below), that they are basically in agreement, and agree with first-hand estimates such as your own.
