Looks like a good chance of westerly wind tomorrow. Low tide most of the day, Acadia launch 11-3.

Whoa, this is hella lame. By the looks of it all access to Acadia and Spanish Banks is cut off until 12:30.

Looks like:
9:00 - 12:15 NW Marine Dr. from Chancellor Blvd to W 4th Ave. – CLOSED

But that's under the Kits section, it's a bit hard to read.

So those idiots didn't even get their closure times right. They closed NW Marine access to the beach at 8:30.

I'm grabbing my 12m and hoofing it from Tolmie St. That's about as close as you can still get.

Brutal. Does that means they'll reopen it an hour earlier? I hope it's good out there for you.

You should still be able to get down to marine drive, just can’t drive along it. Park and cross the road with your gear.

Fun at the FT this morning 8-11 well powered on my 12m.

Felt good to be back on the water, no issues.

WR kicked in later, big kites and foils.

Sailed Gary Point Park from 8 - 11 am this morning. Rigged my new to me 5.3 Ezzy Elite and took out the 101L for for the first 2 hours and rigged down to the 4.7 for the last hour. A little light and holey at first but it filled in and built as the morning progressed. Once the tide started dropping the rollers picked up and the current was pumping when I left. Had about 30 mins of smooth rollers with some distance between them before it got choppy. Thigh to waist high with a few bigger sets when I came off the water. Jumping favoured Starboard but also found a few Port side as well. Really warm in the sun and hardly any boat/ship traffic today. Better timing would have been 10am - 2pm to hit low tide but it was forecast to die off around 11am so went early. A firetruck and crew were at the beach when I came off the water so I asked if someone had called them but they said they had just stopped by. Great day on the water.

Closure. Fought the marathon road closures to get to Wreck Beach for a morning SUP and checked the wind at Spanish Banks on the way home. Waited with Mike at Tolme for the 'stragglers' to pass before getting access to Acadia (less wind then Jericho where there was blowing sand but nicer water). Wasn't quite enough wind for the 5.3 most of the time while I was out but squeezed a few rides in that were fun.

I had coastal like conditions all to myself today between 11:30 and 1:00. Great waves, good times.

5 hours on the water over all.
