Get a Freestyle board like a Flare.
Super loose. Planes up fast. Throw a goiter.
I think it is what u r looking for from your comments.
Don't waste your time with a Futura which is basically a slow slalom board which is meant to be super stable and do easy gybes.

Don't waste your time with a Futura

My Futura has been a great board and exceeds all claims by the manufacturer.
I suspect the relative width etc is responsible for what I'm experiencing.
Not looking to replace but add to the quiver.
Just seeking opinions on present available gear that is comparable to old bump & jumps.
FSW's could work
but freestyles seem to be a bit slow and too specialized for the sailing I do out of nexen.

I checked the specs on this board.
21.5" width, 8'10" length and 93l.
May have to go custom cause I cant find anything and yet loved this board in general( San Carlos, Hood River, Great Lakes and Nitnat) and specifically Squamish. Maybe Robert's?

If you want something old just go to a swap or look on CL.
Really though a fairly modern FSW is going to be a better ride. I'd look for a Tabou 3S classic.
Or else I've got a Thommen you can test drive. ~86L, slight concave to Vee, fast board. I don't get to the gorge enough to keep it.

Got that covered with the Robert's in my quiver.
I figure no smaller then(than?) 104l as my Rigs have become fat and lazy in old age.

Try a 3S classic. I've seen one put the hammer down pretty hard and they ride smooth (me on that Thommen him on a 94L both with 5.2s) Cutouts make them feel narrow in the back at speed.

Was at the top of my list until I moved to the Island and decided a proper wave board was better.

My Robert's Bump & Jump is 22.5% and checking previous boards 21 to 23% seems to be what I'm looking for.

Yes, the Futura is a light-wind session-saver but not turny or good for jumping. I have a 111 Futura and a 112 litre “traditional” board (with dimensions more like your Roberts). I love the Futura for flat water cruising but prefer the narrower board as soon as it is choppy or waves. The low-wind threshold for the Futura is very noticeably lower though, so it often saves me from being skunked at Nexen or Jericho
