Outflow this AM at Furry Creek

Drove by Furry Creek this morning. Seating in my heated seat while looking out the water smothered with white caps from outflow wind, it sure felt warm to go in and have a quickie before work -- just thinking how I'm going to launch from there and in/out in under 1 hour. Never done it before.

I guess this place isn't kite friendly. Got to get my windsurfing gears out then. But where do you launch though?

At the South end of Oliver's Landing next to the small river. There's a bit of a lagoon with a small island in front of it and I launch (windsurfing) from the point. There is a bit of a wind shadow for the first 30metres but you just time the gusts and you're good. As always, best to sail with a buddy as there are not many boats out this time of year especially in 30 knots of wind and 5 degree temps.

Pam Rocks is gusting to 35 knots this morning and 7 degrees. Can't make it today but watching for tomorrow morning.

How long do they last normally.? Not expecting it. If anyone else going I could try it out

It depends but usually just the mornings until about 11am but sometimes it blows all day. If the forecast looks good for tomorrow morning, I'll probably head up for 8am ish but will need to check the Pam Rock sensor first thing in the morning and make the call. I'll post if I'm going.

Will try Furry Creek tomorrow morning. Planning to be there at 9am. The backup plan (or afternoon) is snowkiting at Green lake.

Actuals this morning are lighter than forecast. The 6am update is saying 21 knots which is a little light as Furry Creek is usually about 5 knots less than what the Pam Rock sensor reads. The 5am reading was 20 gusting to 29 so maybe the gusts would be around 30.
I've found that the wind picks up a bit once the sun comes up so I'm heading up to check it out. Won't be an epic day unfortunately but it may be sailable. I'll post an OSR when I arrive.
