There’s another big low pressure storm moving towards us in the eastern Pacific. Timing between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon is still a bit grey but it looks very windy again.

Thanks again Chris. Fingers crossed for Sunday ...

No sweat Alton.

I hope the timing shifts favourably for you guys for Sunday. Great pictures today from everyone. I sure miss those big Centennial days in the winter. Nothing beats that swell on the outer bank when the tide and wind all come together. Nicola is fun but it’s no Centennial ;)

Cheers,

Chris

Looks like a small chance of marginal wind at dawn maybe? Missed every session of this epic season due to work and other stuff and tomorrow’s the only free day...

Dropping fast. I'll head up to Cypress with LeopardSkin instead. Best of luck

Good call for you (and everyone who did not try to chase the dawn patrol, which was everyone as I was solo). I missed last weeks festivities so was hoping for one last one in 2018.

Arrived to Centennial in the dark with good potential based on BB airport and (less so) Centennial sensor. Suited up and by around 7:45 there was more light than my last (Dec 12) dusk/night session. However, the wind had turned and there was a significant wind shadow (clearly wind far out). Kicked myself for not bring passport for Point Roberts. Check out ferry terminal. Good wind but did not want to take my car along the rough road. The "kite launch" at the end of the bay was doable wind wise (windsurf or kite) but the high tide and log raft covering the end of the bay was deathtrap if you ended up that way. Seemed possible on other side of road (northside) but slight off shore. Drove up to the parking lot close to the terminal. North side wind worse here probably due to the terminal. Across road (south side) was a nice launch are but if missed this on the way back, high tide and rip rap all around was the hazard. Wind seemed to be diminishing so back home before 9:30. Iwindsurf now shows wind back to SSE @ Centennial. A bit light but probably kiteable...

I got out for an hour staring at 9 at Centennial with a 5.8m sail and foil. Slogged around for the first bit then got going. It was alright, the sun even came out for a bit 8-) .
