Hey Guys,
The pressure gradient just switched big time to Westerly through Juan de Fuca Strait. Sheringham Point, Race Rocks and Smith Island are all pumping now out of the west at 35+ Knots. Whidbey is forecasting west winds gusting to 45 knots at their airport this evening.
This is the tell tale sign that the cold front is passing through, ushering in the big westerlies through Juan de Fuca.
The current big SSE-S winds at Boundary Bay are going to start to wind down quickly with frontal passage.
Be cautious of chasing the big swell in the middle of the Bay with sunset in 2 hours. The wind will probably drop from 40 to 20 or less very quickly once that cold front passes.
Swimming in the dark sucks......
