Hey Jeff / Tweegster - Is it a tricky kite launch on Thursday afternoon at the White Rock reserve area with 4m tide?

Pics in last post in WREB site info. I think it is doable at 4m tide but requires a buddy launch.

Experienced riders only please as it is onshore wind near trees / tracks.

Jeff - I was wondering if launching from the Indian Reserve gave us more room to launch kites at 4m tide versus East Beach (which now is closed).

Alton, the photos I posted last in WREB info are from the semiahmoo reserve (see highlighted map).

I think there is arguably more room on a high tide than the grass in front of Feral. There is more clearance from trees and probably most important, the waves are less powerful and water is shallower. Wind is usually cleaner too.

A bad launch will still put user over train tracks and into thick blackberry bushes....

I have not tried it yet as I have managed to miss any high tide SWs, obviously 72nd and 3rd are much better high tide options if wind direction allows.

...But if the unicorn was to present itself, that is where I would go.

I scouted out PR two weekends ago when the wind never showed. That would be killer on a SW too.

SSE/S/SW are on/side on n good at Tsawwassen(carabiner to vehicle/log or ask a tourist)

Point Robert Lighthouse park as a free parking and BIG grass land launch (I use a carabiner n rope attach to log) n good from many direction

S -SW are side /side on at Crescent Beach(i use carabiner n rope at beach) but not much of peelers as White rock.

Thanks again Jeff. I'd love to try the alternate launch by reserve. Today someone reminded me about the thorny bushes that can totally shred up a kite in a bad landing.
