There was a long wave priority discussion between Graham Ezzy and Ferdinando Loffreda. In the end it was Graham Ezzy, who apologized: "From my angle of sight and going by PWA wave priority rules, I thought I had priority for the last wave of our heat. After reviewing the IWT rules and the video, this turned out not to be the case. I am very sorry to have interfered with Ferdinando’s wave. By the rules, my highest scoring wave was removed from the overall scores, and I know that this doesn’t do much to answer Ferdinando’s feelings and passion. Ferdinando, you are a great sailor, and I’m sorry this happened.“

Anyone have a copy of IWT rules (I could find the PWA rules but struggled to find the IWT rules posted anywhere)? I listened to the head judge's explanation and I'm still not sure how a guy who rolls off the inside wave has priority over sailor under power on next wave.

Any idea why there was no livestream yesterday? "Technical difficulties" was not really an adequate explanation for such an important event.

From their FB page:

Dear Aloha Classic family.

Yesterday’s live cast was taken down by a bug in the software system completely beyond our control - a problem caused by the company who provide the software. Despite our amazing Live Cast crew’s best efforts we were, as you all know, unable to get it back online during the contest hours. This was extremely frustrating to you all - and to all of us who were working so hard at Ho’okipa to run the event and try and get the action to you all as it happened.

And what incredible action it was.

The good news is that we continued to film with both cameras and drones throughout the day. Kai Katchadourian and his team of commentators continued to work hard for us. We are now in the process of editing together all of this footage and audio to be able to give you all the action from what was an amazing Pro Men & Women Finals Day at the 2018 Aloha Classic.

Thank you all for being so understanding, supportive and for continuing to watch!

Mahalo

Thanks Tony, that's a good explanation. Didn't we miss a live stream before though?
