Forecast looks like a SW clocking to NW today and blowing 16g23 at the airport right now. Anyone planning to head out today? If it's decent at 2:30 I will be going to Iona or kits.

Columbia beach camera at 16-20knots NW... a good sign. It may take 4 hours to get into inlet with some decent surf.

Ballenas is unpredictable, Northern strait shut down == 0.8hb ... going down. By local wind it would seem HB should be at 1.3m... squamish day.

I hope Comox can align everything and jumpstart the strait by 4pm (under12ft tide)

Comox holding(23-30mph), Ballenas at 17now, HB up 18-21knots ... not in forecast but looks good, at your own risk.

WB surf looks ok 5-7pm

Stupid work caused me to miss the best of it today. Caught the tail end of it just for it to die after riding for about 10 minutes. Got home, changed out of my wetsuit in the shower and saw it had picked up again so headed back out. Scored 30 minutes before it died again but I could see some rain coming so stuck around to get another 30 minutes riding the squal. All in all not a bad session, would have been nicer to get out earlier though.
