Been seeing some good wind in squamish so far, I see the spit is closed. Can you still kite there, or one of the other beaches in squamish?

You can still kite the spit, but the SWS would tell you not to.

There is no carpet and solo sessions are annoying for both launch and land. Usually I'll release in to the water from the shore and then dry my kite out. I have put a couple holes in kites solo landing at the spit in the past.

You can also kite Nexen any time, but the early season wind tends to be a lot better at the spit. Once the wind start to come more from the SW than W Nexen gets much better.

Thanks Slappy, I may have to pass and wait for the set up. Shame with the wind already filling in. Have to be patient 8-)

Nexen has been renamed LGB Beach for all the Little Green Bags of canine Xcrement that for some perverse reason the responsible owners leave there to decorate the kite launch area for everyone else to enjoy.

Tony I'm flummoxed,
do you doubt my veracity or literacy?
Epic session today off the spit. Ankle high chop on a 6.6m and "not so short" shortboard.1hr tow which is good enough to justify a tavern stop.
Cheers.

Had to google "misanthrope." I thought I would save others the trouble.

Spit delivered 18 to 23 knots yesterday despite outflow prediction from gfs. Should be same today.

Wonder if I could get a lift after squamish session today to Vancouver so I can pick up my motorcycle and ride it back here. Cheers and thanks in advance

MPH maybe and 18 the average with lulls to13 or 14. Even the river was weak when I sampled it at 3:00 ish.
Did seem to improve a little about 4:00 ...
