What is it with ignorant people on Craigslist trying to sell gear from 1982 for HUNDREDS of dollars?!

https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/nvn/spo/6561467055.html

I contacted this seller to polity inform the price is not inline with what's on offer. Instead of thanks I got %^%#.

I can understand asking a bit more than what you think you'll get because of some haggling. However, some sellers are on another planet!

Craigstlist!

Rant over.

Whatever happened to the Craigslist guide to pricing used gear?

I saw it a few months ago. Looked like it was written by a frustrated windsurfer.

There are CERTAIN boards from the early to mid 90's that are worth 200-600. 80's stuff is pure crap though.

Well it was a good guide, frustration often leads to leap forward and advancement, Elon Musk was frustrated with the automobile industry, the examples of inventions or ideas due to frustration are countless.
Frustration is good as long as it is channeled into something productive and positive :)
sarcasm not really one of them

Either one born every minute, or it went to the dump and he's just bitter.

The fact that the seller went out of his way to post a follow up to his add indicating it sold at "FULL PRICE" shows the seller is skilled at lying, a troll, and all-in-all not well balanced. Either he is lying about his selling price and posted the followup add just for his own ego. Who cares! Or, he lied to some unsuspecting person about the age, quality, and actual usefulness of the gear after he himself was informed by people experienced with this gear. I suspect a few other informed windsurfers told him his gear has nearly ZERO practical value for windsurfing. He would have had to knowingly work his way around this fact when selling. If he did not know then whatever. However, he did know. Perhaps he sold it to someone for something other than windsurfing. If so i guess he could talk his way in to making a turd appear to be gold. Again, you don't need to followup your Craigslist add with a post. If he did actually sell that crap for $350 I feel bad for whoever bought it. If it was a beginner windsurfer they are likely someone who will be turned off of the sport because of bad gear and probably not even know why. Buyer beware.
