Foiling in Boundary Bay

Any kiters foiling in Boundary Bay? I'm considering getting a windsurf foil rig to use a Jericho and maybe White Rock or Bbay (at high tide) for the summer. Wonder what happens when you hit a bunch of weeds on a foilboard...

Honestly you don't notice much if you are on the foil, but you don't get up on it trailing a big mat. Just too much drag from that and the board.
What board and foil are you thinking?

Foiling is great in Bbay provided the tides are high enough. 9 feet is the lowest I will bother with. I don't bother foiling in the summer given the weeds and mostly low tides.

I end up having more bad sessions than good ones foiling at bbay.

The good ones are usually on really high tides and East wind.

I also ride an aluminum and G10 foil that can handle hitting sand bars. I wouldn't use carbon there.

I agree, lightwind foiling can be super frustrating there because it often shuts down instantly when light. I get way more use out of my skimboard for lightwind sessions there despite the worse low-end and lower fun factor.

What's your current light wind gear and how do you envision adding a foil to that?

They suggested tke older Starboard Kode tufskin 137? or the Newer IQ

Sounds like mixed reviews. I have entirely too many toys so still thinking about it....

Hey Dallas, I've been looking at the Starboard 7'4" 4 in 1 Hypernut. https://star-board-sup.com/2018/boards/foil/ I'm surprised the guys at Bigwinds didn't mention this but recommended a Kode Tufskin.

That hypernut 4in1 looks sweet but seems like tracks are the way to go over tuttle.
