Windsurfing shop talk

First challenge was to get 5 boards 9 sails 2 booms and four masts for a total of 100 kg to Cape Town. I started to get a little nervous when the lady at check in bought out a tape measure when she rightly did not believe our dimensions of 200 x 60 x 25 for a double board bag. The damage ended up being $525 for all the gear, not bad for half way around the world.
Gear list of trip: Goya Quad 2017, 80,86,96. Fanatic Skate 100, JP Freestyle 90.Sails 3.5, 3.7, 4.0, 4.2, 4.5, 4.7, 5.0 5.3 5.2 Freek for Freestyle.

At Paris, we can see at least one of our boards about to make it on, unfortunately three bags didn't make it until a few days later.

Day one, 20 to 25 at Big Bay Cross onshore, head to logo high, nice easy first session. So happy I also bought a bigger wave board (96l Goya Quad), so much easier in lighter winds.Jen was out on her 80l which I figure is relatively the same sized board for her.

Wow. Just wow. I can't wait to read more!

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Did I mention that I love kiters. At the end of my session today at Witsands I was getting tired and started to make mistakes, not to mention that the wind had kicked up another 10 knots. I got seriously taken and separated from my gear, a kiter circled me and told me to hold his harness and then gave me a ride to my gear a few hundred meters away. It would have taken me a long time to get there alone.

Otherwise a great session, Jen on 4.5 Ryan on 5 then 4.5 then way over powered. Caught a few of the bomb mast high sets but turned very conservatively since it's only my second day.

Looking up towards Misty Cliffs, the area where the biggest sets were rolling in.

Oh great, AG in Australia and Ryan & Jen in SA. Now I'll never get any work done! Anyone in Maui to add to the pain....?

We are all living vicariously through your logs and pics so please keep them coming.

Looking forward to tagging along here guys, although you'll have much more entries than me sadly.. Always good to hear about crosspolination water sports looking out for each other on the water! And they didn't chose an easy kite fan to convert, either!
