Ebey went off all day and is still cranking

NOAA and the GFS both called for 10-15 knots............again. I've never seen them right once on a SE for Whidbey. Below is the data from the sensor at Oak Harbour. This sensor is about ten minutes from Ebey and 5-10 mph lighter than the winds at Ebey.

The wind came up at 6am this morning and is still blowing 4.7 right now at 10pm. Looks like Ebey started out 4.2-4.7 for the first four hours then ramped up to 3.2-3.7 for two hours before lightening back to 4.2-4.7 for the next 9 hours. No lulls or breaks, just windy the entire day from sunrise to sunset.

This all pretty standard for down there on a SE 20-30 forecast. 15 plus hours today of sub 5.0 winds. The SE winds are always more reliable than the westerlies. The water conditions just don't get as big.

Ebey is on a SE wind what Race Rocks is on a W wind. The narrowest part of the Strait exposed to the most amount of wind. Huge Venturi effect between the Cascades, Olympics and the high bluffs on either side of the Strait. The place you should go if you have a day off and it's not cranking locally.....

Friday doesn't look to be as windy as today but it'll still be 10x better than sitting in the rain at Centennial waiting for the cold, 13 knot ENE wind to switch to SE before dark.
