Terminal was a blast with James, Matt, moe and a couple others. Lit on 7m kites, still blowing.

At Spanish Banks, timing was everything - had to synchronize your rigging with declining wind strength. W 30 at 8am dropped to WNW 20 at 10am then tanked at 10:30am. Our fearless leader (and father on a timeline), Tony360 scored the best session on 7m+surfboard. His fellowers Remi (7m+surfboard), Roxstock (7m+TT), Jan (10m+TT) and myself (7m+surfboard) only got 0.5 hrs before having to switch to bigger gear. Due to indecision, I only scored another 0.5 hrs on 9m before it tanked. In retrospect, I should have started and stayed on a 9m kite for more TOW but it was nice to dry out my 7m from Friday's epic session.

The launch was very civilized (not swirly). Waves outside were chest high and slightly disorganized. The middle section had smooooooth long rollers - sweet!

5°C felt pleasant in a 5mm hooded wetsuit with gloves under sunny sky. Good turn out with about 10+ kiters.

Adrien - a tale of two sessions :D

Special shout out goes to my wife for planning a full day of Christmas activities and missions, if I hadn't arrived at dawn I would have missed the best part.

By the time I saw you guys the wind was tanking, the waves were at their peak, and I figured I better get back down. Just before that C36 and I played chicken for the wave of the day, sorry about that one.

Hey Tony. Your timing was perfect today. You missed the accident on the Ironworker's bridge and the Santa Clause parade downtown closures.

I'm still on the Vancouver side waiting for civilized access to the North Shore.

Good choice. Can't believe Tsawwassen blew from dawn to dusk

Arrived late and got nothing but wet. Decided that if the wind was gone at SB then it might be at WB too so went for a surf with tide dropping to good surf range.

Sadly the wind was cranking at WB, seafoam everywhere. Surfed from 12:00-1:30 with some breaks on the beach between. It was just too windy. Got a few rides but the effort required was a bit too much for me.

I think the right call today was 9m at Iona from 12:00-3:00.

No worries - all good. :D

Slippery slope. Arrived at Acadia at 7:45 to find the gate open and DB and Massimo getting sorted. Compared thoughts and decided to go 4.0/92 (in an effort to make sure I wasn't undergunned and set adrift). By the time I got rigged and walked down to upper Acadia I could see DB just barely getting a ride on 3.7 on the way out. Launched above the bridge and just barely had enough wind to pull me off the shore. Got a couple of underpowered runs in while Tony360 was up at Acadia and he had enough power to work the waves! Trolled for a while longer than exited at 'dog beach', followed DB's lead and walked back up the road to the parking lot. AG was stop-start so rigged 5.3/115 and gave it a second try. Launch to windward of one leg-breaker-log with a waist larger than me rolling around in the shore break. Better and nice to be able to push off some the large smooth rolling swell. Even stopped to put more downhaul and outhaul in while floating, but then the wind started to back and I was wishing I had an adjustable outhaul. A few more rides then nursed it in just behind AG and DB. Chilly, but not cold (I was expecting it to be bracing).

With the water glassing off it was time to head for Wreck Beach. Arrived to find glassy looking waves from the bluff (according to plan) and then arrived at the beach to find more wind then when we were sailing at Acadia, shore break and the odd dumping wave (not according to plan) - this was not the SUP session I was hoping for ~ decided to wait for the tide to ebb and hoped for the wind to back. Enjoying seeing George, GB and DB all catch 3-4 second rides (some on clean faces)! Well done! Then decided it was now or never so choose my moment and paddled out on my knees (to reduce my sail area), rolled around, popped up, short ride and repeated. Then was really getting pushed around by the wind and the odd dumping wave so decided to call it a day. Pretty mean SUP session. Had to convince DB that was not typical set-up at Wreck Beach.

Was it you on the long board? It was hard to recognize you with the surf and wind + hood, my fault.

East of spit there is a clean break when it gets too wild. Went there , good sets every 5 minutes. You only have to make sure to bail out before beach as it's rocky .

I ll be more specific next time. Yes, it was not that clean. I had better, cleaner if wind shuts down. Every session is different. Wave me next time, I'll join you, once you get outside, rest.
