Van Isle this weekend. Looks pretty good. Balmy (11-12 degrees) and wet (rainy) with 2M westerly swell for the majority of the weekend. I think I'm going to take the camper and SUPS to Jordan River and will head to Sombrio if JR is too small.

Anyone interested in joining? We could split ferry costs and ride over together in the ferry. You'd just need your tent. Unless you're an attractive woman.

For the longboarder that tried Olympic trail today 9-11am.

Was that you Jeff?. Best tide there is 7ft (9ft by 11am today). Where I was, there is a sand bank, slightly better break than where you surfed, there are rock/boulders. At a lower tide it will make sense, 2c. Use the train light as a marker. Given Saturna under 20 knots at least there was something.
.
Small surf but a few rides/sets.
Tomorrow it's PR :D

Jay, we wimped out from Cox this weekend because of flooding around Port Alberni, it was a 50/50. KD at Philippines. Not many surfers in the wtf group.

7-9am. By 9am tide too high, wind weaker.

Saturna delivered a nice 31-39 knots for those 2 hours, but still we had better last February, and I am still waiting for the 150 meter right break that shows at 10 ft tide and 40+ knots at Saturna.

Dave, no more photos unless you SUP first. Local waves don't last long, if I could hero pro a few rides from 2016 it would make cool movie, but you guys windsurfing that break on extreme wind/surf would make a cooler movie (page 53 of thread has a PR video of break, full on)
Lately it's just 45 minutes of great surf.

More this week, we have to accept the short sessions given the high tide. It s hard to leave a fun break that went flat, expecting more.

Hope the wind delivered, but checking area seems to be weakening surf-wise.
