Weird. Looked pretty solid when I first arrived and Richi said it was actually steadier than he was expecting. Rigged 4.5/92 in the diminishing wind (dark clouds rolling in) and caught the back side of the first hump of the camel. Came in and rigged bigger (5.3/115) and that helped bridge the valley, but wind still had lots of torque, but not much horsepower. Sailed up to the river and saw AG and Massimo then returned back to join the Nexen crew just as the second hump of the camel showed up. Switched back to the small gear for the last stint. Nicolas mentioned early on that there was a lot of south in the wind and he was right – jumps could be had to port at Nexen. There was a little bit of everything – sun, rain, rain squalls, bullet rain, sheets of rain. Strange session.

It may have been one of those days where surface wind was steadier than wind at 20m.

I found it quite steady from 12:00 to 1:30, I was very surprised to see how bad the graph looked. I was super powered up but totally in control, with butter smooth swell and flat water the further you went out toward the highway. I honestly think it may be my best session ever at Squamish, or maybe the expectations were so low and my desperation level was at max. I was going to check out the river and honeyhole to see if the wind was insane gusty there, but was having too much fun to risk losing a minute of it.

Im glad everyone stuck around and got more wind after the "doesn't exist" 3:00 dip happened. I wish could have stayed for some more, fingers crossed for wednesday :D

Only slightly better than yesterday W 18-30 gusting 35. Almost out of control in the overpowered gusts on 10m+TT with bar maxed out at super sonic speeds throwing me into the estuary ... walk of shame twice. Got 1 massive jump. Switched to 9m+TT and worked hard keeping up wind with bar maxed out. Finally switched to 7m but pumped like crazy in the lulls to keep up wind.

Felt like a newbie on a TT but got lots of good tips for seasoned kiters on staying upwind in overpowered conditions.

Great day. Steady SW 18-25 perfect for 3.5 hours of boosting. Demoed Best kites 10m Roca, 10m TS and 12m TS. 10m Roca lacked bar pressure and was very slow. 10m TS had more bar pressure but still had difficulty boosting. 12m TS was better for nice lofty jumps but still slow.

After 2.5hrs switched to my old 10m North Fuse beater kite then suddenly boosting much improved ... more bar pressure and faster turning kite.

I thought the wind was pretty weak despite how good the graph looks. I even switched to my 12m around 4. Still had a pretty good session.

Also, I learned the loops on the side of the harness aren't for attaching your leash (despite what youtube says). Tried to unhook, and the loop ripped right off the harness sending my kite drifting across the water. Thanks for rescuing me and my kite SWS! And thanks to the guy with the 10m TS for trying to rescue it then getting the seadoo!

Man I'm glad I didn't discover this in the middle of english bay

2.5 fun hours of boosting in steady SW 20-25 on 10m beater kite. No exploding bladder today.

Barely. High tide made for a mini rigging spot on the side of the spit. Looked good at arrival but the wind slowly unravelled. You could feel the puffs of warm air on the water (never good) like the city was overheating and too hot for it to draw normally. Barely able to keep planing in all but the strongest wind ~ some moments and the flat water made for large practice area. Lots of neighbours not being too neighbourly and kept me watching for the unexpected. Not entirely sure it was worth the trip.

As usual, only winter sea conditions will enema that humility to the core and straighten them up to sort them out, flat water on summer conditions brings the "other" kind.
You guys should have stickers like "I sailed Centennial on March 10 2016... I don't recall seeing you there",Ryan would just have his tsunami ride as a sticker...
