Got lucky and got a hour in at Centennial today. Unfortunately it died just as Alton showed up. For an easterly it was really nice. Some nice waves at 3rd ave and up near the boat launch. Got way up wind and sailed all the way up to the boarder marker. Was practicing my forward take off again and again should have just gone for it. On one jump I was tucking up my back leg and was looking at my landing when the board started rotating and I landed sideways. I'm sure if I had of looked back over my shoulder instead of down at the landing I would have made it around. Was stoked to try again but the wind died shortly after and I didn't get another chance. Thanks to Downwind Dave for posting this link on BWD today for my loop practice. http://vimeo.com/74415879#at=0
Hey Michael, that's awesome that your about to start huckin forwards. Not sure why it's always so hard to pull the trigger when you have a big bed of water underneath, I do the exact same thing. I'll give you the only motivational advice that always seems to help me.
Mast to windward cue = lots less pain when going for the first, under-committed attempts! I learnt that the hard way You get thrown sideways at the water, rather than getting absolutely slammed.
I gotta start figuring them out on starboard tack, so hopefully we can get a Centennial session in soon and put work in on them!
