Richi: Careful what you wish for (I'm on the 6:30 sailing  ) - tell Chris that I can bring the board back for you (I'll take the 'car waxing for life' option  ). If I'm not on the beach when he arrives/leaves he can tie it to my roof racks (I trust you know what my can looks like).

Merry Christmas ;)

Richi wrote:Wish I could join you guys but cant make it tomorrow, will probably be sailing your scraps at BBay in the morning. My friend Chris may be sailing at Columbia tomorrow and he has a 70l board and bag of mine. If any of you guys can bring it back I would buy you a case of your favourite beverages and wax your car for the rest of your life.

At Columbia Beach right now..............solid 6 knots :( Looks darker to the south. I'm keeping my fingers crossed something happens. I see Sisters and Entrance are cranking. Have fun at a Ebey Landing Chris!

Cheers,

Ouch!!

It's still a shorter trip than Whidbey probably. The Metar/Taf shows crazy strong SE for Whidbey this afternoon. I've got my laptop with me so I'm here until dark either way. Good luck up there :D

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks guys, hope your getting some decent action over there. I think Chris ( windsurfish on BWD) is driving a beat up old Subaru station wagon so if one of you hooks up with the board, awesome! He probably won't be there till noon, I think he's teaching in the morning.
Hope the temps rise and the wind fills in for you guys!

ZERO degrees in Nanaimo! you guys are hardcore or insane

I just went through the windsurfer galleries looking for pics of your van David but couldn't find any. I can't seem to remember what kind of van you drive, I'm guessing Chrysler mid 2000's, burgundy, with no stickers on it? Any distinguishing marks?

Just talked to Chris, he drives a red Subaru with a white pop up tent, he will be there at 1:30 if the wind holds up. If the stars align and you can pick it up great, if not I appreciate it as well.

I'm a little teary eyed after looking through all those galleries, so many good times.

Scored a morning and afternoon session for 2.5 hours TOW at Columbia Beach.

ESE 18-25 with waist high swell reasonably organized outside and knee high waves nicely organized inside. Lull at noon perfect for lunch. Dialed in on 5.2/93L at times overpowered. Relatively warm for December.

Saw a pod of killer whales today but had to runaway from a group of territorial sea lions following me.

Michael, Dave/C36 and I enjoyed meeting up with our island buddies DavidM, Kus, Eastside, Adrian, Chris, Ozzy ... about a dozen windsurfers and 2 kiters today.

Jen - I'm bringing back the Ezzy
Richi - Dave/C36 is bringing back your 70L board from Chris

That's great, you guys rolled the dice and scored a nice session. I was afraid the skunk-o-meter was going to keep ticking. There was absolutely no wind here today, hopefully something pans out this weekend.

Thanks for picking up the board David, hopefully I can pass on the favour to someone else down the road. I will pm you with my phone number so I can pick it up and drop off some golden beverages. Oh and that OSR goes down as one of the best, nice creativity and enthusiasm!
