Advice for Trip To the States

If it's anything other than a shitshow between Everett and Olympia I'd be surprised. After 8 or 9pm in the eve it's likely better.

We often sleep at the Tulalip Casino behind the outlet malls if we leave late. There is a big RV lot that's free(at least we've never paid)In the morning grab a coffee and head to the I90 ; )

Going home avoid Sunday night. A lot of traffic going back to the city (Seattle, Tacoma) from the country (lakes, mountains, coast) on I5 or I90.

If you make it down to Florence, Honeyman State Park is worth a stay if they have space (just south of the road out to the south jetty.

We ended up hitting Seaside last Saturday. Camped at 1000 island RV park. It was ok, they had a pool that my boy loved. 66 bucks a night tho. The town of Seaside itself is pretty good for a day or two. Sunday, scored a sweet downwinder from just south of the Shipwreck to Sunset beach. A couple of grey whales surfaced close to me. Quite powered on the 12m. Got to Nehlelam state park that night and it was still windy enough to kite at sunset.
Next day we had wind but not as much. Loads of fun tho with shoulder high waves.
Short Sands beach the next day for surf. Waist high ok. Other spots had head high waves. Short interval swell was the theme of this trip.
No smoke ( like last year ). Water was ice cold for 3 days, but warmed up last 2 days. Bring booties.

Good times ... lotsa fun potential in that stretch of coast.
