O'Neill Hammer or Epic?

Off Topic Comments, Help, Tips and Trick

What do you recommend is better for a SUMMER suit around the Lower Mainland; O'Neill Hammer 3/2 or O'Neill Epic 3/2?

My current suit is an O'Neill Hammer 3/2 and has been fine for the last three summer seasons. It does not have glued seems so it flushes more quickly. This can be a good and bad thing. It is starting to show its age. I could replace the Hammer with another Hammer but the Epic is not that much more money and it has glued seams. Glued seems might be good at times but I'm concerned in the summer it might be too warm.

Are any of you using the Epic as a summer suit? How is it?

The summer suit is mostly for English Bay from around May to September. I also have an O'Neill mutant 5/4 that I use for Squamish and the cooler months (March-May, September-November.)

I hope to order one this week so any advice you can provide is required somewhat quickly. Thanks for the feedback.

Ion suits for us.
Comfy , nice looking , good fit.
If you go to the Gorge surf shop for the swaps 2018, they usually marked down the previous year suits, you get really good deals sometimes.

I ordered an O'Nieil EPIC 3/2 from Wetsuit Wearhouse online earlier today. Their wetsuits are already inexpensive and they currently have 25% off storewide until the 31st.

https://www.wetsuitwearhouse.com/

They have free shipping in the US. I'll pick it up at Point Roberts. I was hoping to buy local but I would need to order regardless because of the size. Price-wise local shops where not even close. I suspect if I even asked to price match it would be below their cost.

Hopefully the EPIC won't be too warm in the summer compared to the Hammer. We'll see...

PS... if anyone is looking to order from Wetsuit Wearhouse the best coupon code I could find was "FLASH25". 25% off $50 or more. Cheers!

I wouldn't touch anything without GBS seams.

My summer setup is MEC fusion pants + 2/1 oneil surf top with my trusty NP Surf Edge wind skin over top.

If you ever get too hot you can just dip in to the water and pull your neck seal open an inch. Our water maxes out at 20 degrees so that will cool you down right quick.
