Anyone knows how to get to Columbia beach? Is that kite-friendly? Or windsurfing only?

Ferry to Departure Bay then Hwy 19 north to Parksville. My first trip to Columbia was with Dave B who kited there.

In the last cycle it seemed like all of the kiters were in Comox at the Spit?
