I'll travel anywhere within 5 hours drive, but no ferries.
I'm thinking Squamish is best bet. Any other ideas?

Pack up the family and head out to the Gorge. Camp at Maryhill out east or Tucker Park in town.

Cheers,

Chris

Locust Friday?? Only been there a few times and those days were WINDY. To my eye there could be some 12M action Friday? Lighter wind has more risk (no where to drop to). As I said, haven't been there a lot so would be interested in other thoughts. Probably a wait and see situation then roll the dice. I could use an R&R session and get back to working on strapless tacks..

Launched from the spit in Squamish at about 1:30 today and was fully powered on my 9 till 4:30 when I couldn't hang on any more. Wish I knew it was going to last all evening as I would have taken breaks and gotten in a sunset session with low tide.
Only 6 kites came and went when I was there, saw 3 kites at Nexen and one wind surfer.
I first stopped at Nexen around 12:30 and the wind had not filled in yet so I went to the spit. Guessing it filled in there shortly after 2.
Awesome first Squamish day of the season for me.
Going to give it a go tomorrow again.

Locust ETA 9

Could have should have got there earlier but just too slow moving. Got about one hour. First part just enough to stay upwind, then not enough to stay upwind, then wait for a gust to get going. 3 kiters. Report was better earlier.
