Not yet. Still waiting for my 46cm fin which should arrive today. It was supposed to arrive a couple days ago. I was out yesterday and my 7.5 Retro didn't quite cut it. It turned out to be the exact kind of day that prompted the NX purchase. The forecast under delivered and teased just enough to get on to plane before dropping me back in. It would have been a perfect 8.6 NX day. Hopefully we can get one more local day before the season ends. It will be torture if I have to wait till the spring for a trial run.

Didn't just rig the 8.6 and stay light on the feet?
I think you'll find a cammed sail can bust through those dead spots provided you hit them fast then head off the wind.
This weekend shows much promise.

I sometimes get spinout on a 42cm and 7.5. If I sailed the 8.6 with that 42cm I'd spend most my session sideways :) .

You can load the crap out of the harness with cammed sails which let's the board dance under light feet. Just can't push super hard to go upwind.
I do think the 46cm will be a better fin for most of your sailing. I used that size under a 7.4 quite a bit, it wasn't fast but did truck upwind and got going easily.
