I was not wearing a helmet when I was hit by the panga in LV......pretty sure it would not have helped

a panga is the fiberglass open boat that most fisherman us there, normally wt a 90 motor.

wow, in over 10 winters there ,i never heard someone get it by a boat( but i heard of a bad launch at campground were someone hit a parked panga as the kite was on loop of dead mode, bad injuries)

Thx, still mending tho, 11 breaks in 7 ribs, some “hanging” (broken at sternum and spine), shattered acetabulum (hip) with 13 different breaks/fractures, two fractured vertebrae and a spiral fractured to the head of the femur. Collapsed right lung and 2 “massive” pulmonary embolii (blood clots), 4 surgeries, 5 days in trauma ICU and 15 days in hospital, 3 months no weight bearing at all on the repaired hip (see photos above) but I lived to sail another day so cannot complain (I also got to fly home in a private air ambulance Lear jet, totally high on industrial grade morphine-good times)
