Roof rack bar pads

For sale, wanted and promotions

I'm looking to buy some roof rack bar pads for an upcoming trip to Hood River. Does anybody have any? I only need two, but could use four as I'm planning on fabricating a stacking system for windsurfers.

Hey Ryan

I have a stacking rack and pads that you are welcome to borrow for your trip. They fit Thule rectangular crossbars. PM, call, or text me.

Thanks Darrell, i appreciate the offer. i've already started fabricating the roof rack, as it fits my Thule roof top box as well as two/three boards stacked.
Thanks again for the offer

I've heard that the new larger pool noodles work well for pads but are only good for a season or 2.

Best stuff is the large diameter grey foam pipe insulation made for 1" pipe. That's what is inside the fancy covered Dakine pads, but I found it lasts for years if you just use it bare and attach it with electrical tape. It comes in 6' lengths for a few bucks each. You need to get it from a commercial plumbing supply place not a regular hardware store.

I found some of that foam pipe insulation. I put a couple zip ties to hold it on temporarily.
