Craigslist Gear Prices

For sale, wanted and promotions

Hey folks.

Please see this post.
https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/nvn/spo/5933925636.html

I am curious if this Craigslist add belongs to anyone here? Is this board collectable or something? (It's from before my windsurfing time). I was going to message the seller and politely point out this gear is VERY out of date. Technology has significantly moved on since 1996.

Correct me if I am wrong but as I see it:

Board. 0-$200 MAX depending on if it is still desirable. (Realistically $50-100. Use as a SUP?)
Boom. Very old. No real value.
Mast. I do not see one.
Sail. $25-40 if no holes or repairs.
Extension(s). Very old and worn out. No value.
Base plates: $10 each.
UJ: 0-$20 depending on condition of the rubber tendon.

Unless I am missing something I don't see how this adds up to $600 bucks!

Check out this value:

haha, I think it's an '87. I recall this is the two-piece articulating slalom board make jibes smoother. It was such a successful design that they've incorporated it into all subsequent boards /s.

Looks like it's this guy:

Apparently the board is appreciating in value!

PS if you have an old 120L-ish slalom board in okay shape that's sanely priced, please PM me.

I just sent a friendly message to the seller. Hopefully they take the message the right way. Some sellers legitimately are unaware of current values and that's fine. They just need to be pointed in the right direction.

WHAAAAT?! :o
I am curious if sellers that have been out of the sport a while do any kind of research on their gear before they post it. Do they just find their original sales receipt from 25 years ago and say "hmm. I paid $3000 in 1992 so it MUST be worth $1500 today".

I just emailed this seller too. I asked what the other gear is that's included in case there is something modern of value not mentioned. If not then $1250 is just...

Here is another one. $1250 for a board from '89?!

I sure hope the rest of the gear is modern (and plenty of it) at that price. Surely I must be missing something. (and don't call me Shirley)

This one takes the prize. It has been posted & reposted for at least 2 years.
