When it's absolutely too cold

Come on up!

Day 4 at Cypress. First tracks with Doug, Bob, Rob W, Big Bill and Jerry. Poached Horizon for 15-20 cm of heavenly rides on my snowboard. Good for 4 runs before getting tracked out. Sky Chair open at 10am for another 4 runs of fresh tracks. Most of us were done by 11am when Humpty Dumpty got too lumpy.

Other riders included Bandito, Brian C, Clay, Rob F, Marc B and 2 more windsurfer/kiters who may wish to remain anonymous.

fantastic 4 days opening, looking for more powder tomorrow! no bad tree well as it was pack heavy . lots of mid heavy powders in trees, NICE!
The Downhill Area will be OPEN tomorrow from 9am-4pm. Great News! - Eagle Express Quad will be operating Tuesday with Panorama, Windjammer, Upper Fork and Jasey Jay open, plus the Skate Park will open for the season. On the other side on Mt Strachan we'll have Sky Chair, Lions Express Quad and Easy Rider Quad all open for some great turns! This is the most natural snow we've had to start the season since 2012/13 so we're looking forward to a great La Nina winter.

Day 5 at Cypress. First day on skis.

Good groomer conditions on every run (Colins, Hutch, Sky Chair, Panorama, Jasey Jay, Maelle Ricker, Windjammer) but poor visibility was very disappointing. Favorite was Windjammer with best visibility and soft pack groomers when Eagle Chair finally opened at 11am.

Fun riding with Clay, Rob W, Bob, Jerry, Doug, Big Bill, Bandito and Brian C and Moka C.

Day 6 at Cypress. 2-3 cm of fresh snow over groomers except 5 cm of powder on Windjammer. When Eagle chair opened we poached Horizon and scored 10cm of heavy powder. Good for 6 runs before we tracked it out. Heavy snow was hard on the skiers but perfect for snowboarders.

Excellent snow conditions. Only complaint was pelting ice/snow (felt like pins and needles) impairing vision.

Usual suspects included Doug (skis), Bob (skis), Jerry (powder snowboard), Marc (snowboard) and me (snowboard). Left after 1.5 hours to catch a double session at Spanish Banks.
