Cypress powder

When it's absolutely too cold

by drh » Mon Feb 17, 2014 6:20 pm

Best day of the year so far at Cypress. They had 35 cm of new snow that fell late yesterday afternoon and into the evening. Big smiles all around when they opened up Raven Ridge this morning - all untracked snow. A lot of stoked skiers and boarders including Jerry, Clay, Rob, Benito, JS, and Tomo. :D

my colorado powder day, well a few fresh tracks at least, trumps your cypress powder... no ice, no rocks, tons of terrain

just a few runs tracked here

Snowboarding on hero groomer conditions this morning.
Then caught the stressful 3rd period (Canada 2 - Latvia 1).
Now back to work.

Nice day at Cypress. Early runs were all groomed so I scored first tracks on Jasey Jay all to myself. Jerry, Clay, Doug and Rob scored first tracks on Maelle Ricker.

Waiting for the Raven to open, Clay and I found some powder on the Rainbow but quickly rushed over to Raven when it looked open. Unfortunately, we arrived 15 minutes too late only to discover Coyote 7 was skiied out by guys like Jerry with perfect timing. Nice to talking to Ewart (WhalePuke) on the Raven chair.

To end the morning, we (Doug, Jerry and Benito) caught the end of the 3rd period and overtime of the women's hockey game in the lodge over the lunch special.

Another big day at Cypress with 32 cm of light powder shared with Bob, Clay and Rob. Skied 7 of the past 11 days as it's been the best stretch of the season by far.
